Find out more about the Costa Rica coffee in our flagship Christmas Box
Our flagship Christmas Boxes are flying off the shelves. Less than a week after Christmas pre-orders opened to the public, we've already sold about a fifth of the boxes we have available this year. So if you haven't ordered yours yet, make sure you get your order in so you don't miss out.
As you decide how many boxes you'd like to gift (to other people or yourself!), we thought we'd bring you a bit more about the first single-origin coffee in the box.
This box features five 200g bags of delicious coffee to take you on a flavour-filled journey around the coffee-growing world. It includes our popular Christmas Foundry and Christmas Mill blends, along with three single-origin coffees - one each from Africa, Asia and the Americas, and one each from the three main production processes: natural, honey and washed.
We like to keep you waiting to find out the full contents of the box but so far we've revealed that the honey process coffee this year is from Costa Rica. So what's the story behind it?
This coffee has been produced by Hermanos Aguilera (Aguilera Brothers). If you've been following us for a while you'll know that Mark first met Dylan Aguilera, part of the Hermanos Aguilera family and founder of Aguilera Coffee Traders, at last year's Caffè Culture event in London. At that time Mark was looking for a coffee from the Americas for the 2024 Christmas Box and Dylan was able to supply just the thing.
That coffee went down a storm with our customers so Mark went back to Dylan to source a different coffee for this year's box.
Produced by Hermanos Aguilera, this coffee was grown at the Finca Toño farm in Los Robles de Naranjo, Alajuela in West Valley, Costa Rica.
The variety is Villa Sarchi and it was grown at 1,500 metres above sea level.
The Aguilera family have been growing coffee for the past six decades and for more than a quarter of that time have been focused on producing specialty coffee.
They have farms growing more than 35 different Arabica coffee varieties between them, using a range of processed including experimental processes.
Dylan founded green coffee import and export business Aguilera Coffee Traders in 2022 and the company has its roots firmly embedded in the West Valley.
Aguilera Coffee Traders specialises in producing and exporting high-quality specialty coffee.
Mark was excited to meet up with Dylan at Caffè Culture again last week and is even more excited to be able to feature another of his family's great coffees in this year's Christmas Box.
On November 1 we'll be revealing our second single-origin coffee in the Christmas Box. Until then, you can get 20% off all Christmas coffee gift pre-orders. So, if you haven't ordered all your coffee gifts yet, why not head over to our Christmas collection now to secure your discount?
